Many in the Nevada business community are coming together to provide an “Evening of Hope” for children with cancer.
The Evening of Hope Epicurean Experience, sponsored by dozens Nevada businesses, will feature culinary tastes from top Las Vegas restaurants, children’s art and both silent and live auction prizes. The event will benefit Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Foundation of Nevada, a non-profit agency that provides support and services for families of children diagnosed with cancer.
This will take place on Saturday, April 27, from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. at the Keep Memory Alive Event Center at the Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health, located at 888 W. Bonneville Ave.
Four children will be recognized as “Ray of Hope” honorees for their courage throughout their challenging journey of life with cancer. These honorees are: Diego Ayala, 7; Caleb Evins, 16; Janessa Holman, 16; and Junaisy Vargas, 5.
Also featured will be a Children’s Art Gallery, showcasing a variety of artwork from children who are beneficiaries of Candlelighters programming. Proceeds from the sale of these pieces and the live and silent auction benefit the Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Foundation of Nevada.
Donna Palladino, special events director at Purdue Marion & Associates, will be honored as Volunteer of the Year for the time she has dedicated to planning and implementing the organization’s major fundraising events for the past eight years. Colliers International will receive the Founders Award for providing more than 18 years of commitment and financial support to Candlelighters and other children’s charities in the community.
Guests are invited to bring a bottle of wine, valued at $25 or more, to contribute to a wine package to be auctioned during the evening.
An Evening of Hope features live entertainment and complimentary cocktails, wine and hors d’oeuvres. To date, participating restaurants include: Bon Bread, Capital Grille, Dom De Marco’s, DW Bistro, Espresso Etc., Ferraro’s Restaurant & Wine Bar, Gimme Some Sugar, Hash House A Go Go, Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts, Paymon’s Mediterranean Café & Lounge, Republic Kitchen, Sierra Ice, Southern Wine & Spirits and Top of the World.
