A night of culinary tastes from top Las Vegas restaurants, beautiful and heart-warming children’s art, great silent and live auction prizes, and good friends for a good cause is planned to support children with cancer and their families. An Evening of Hope benefitting Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Foundation of Nevada will be Saturday, April 27, from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. at the Keep Memory Alive Event Center at the Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health, located at 888 W. Bonneville Ave.

The epicurean-style experience and cocktail reception fundraiser helps raise money to provide support, education, hope and advocacy through programs and services for children and adolescents with cancer and their families in Southern Nevada.

The annual event also will honor Donna Palladino, special events director at Purdue Marion & Associates, as Volunteer of the Year for her countless hours in planning and implementing organization major fundraising events for the past eight years. Colliers International will receive the Founders Award for more than 18 years of unwavering commitment and in-kind and financial support, not only to Candlelighters but to the many children’s charities in the community.

Four Candlelighters children will be recognized for their courage, strength and hope that each has exemplified throughout their challenging journey of life with cancer.  Ray of Hope honorees are: Diego Ayala, 7; Caleb Evins, 16; Janessa Holman, 16; and Junaisy Vargas, 5.

One of the evening’s highlights is the Children’s Art Gallery, which features a variety of artwork from children who are beneficiaries of Candlelighters programming. Proceeds from the sale of these pieces and the live and silent auction benefit the Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Foundation of Nevada.

Guests are invited to bring a bottle of wine, valued at $25 or more, to contribute to a wine package to be auctioned during the evening.

An Evening of Hope features live entertainment and complimentary cocktails, wine and hors d’oeuvres. To date, participating restaurants include: Bon Bread, Capital Grille, Dom De Marco’s, DW Bistro, Espresso Etc., Ferraro’s Restaurant & Wine Bar, Gimme Some Sugar, Hash House A Go Go, Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts, Paymon’s Mediterranean Café & Lounge, Republic Kitchen, Sierra Ice, Southern Wine & Spirits and Top of the World.

Candlelighters Childhood Cancer Foundation of Nevada is a non-profit agency that provides support and services for families of children, birth to 21 years old, diagnosed with cancer. Through its many programs, Candlelighters provides assistance for quality-of-life issues that are a large part of the childhood cancer experience, including disease-specific education and emotional support. Programs include: patient advocacy, emergency assistance, travel for treatment, family counseling, survivor scholarships, and other programs and services such as hospital visits, toy boxes for out-patient clinics, financial aid guidance, bereavement support and much more.
